Green Buildings and the State of the Art
Learn about the largest carbon free building in Boston. In 2017 Boston University’s Board of Trustees approved a bold Climate Action Plan, setting a goal to be carbon neutral by 2040, ten years ahead of the City of Boston’s goal. Boston University’s Center for Computing and Data Sciences exemplifies how climate commitments, a collaborative team, partnerships, and strong leadership can bring the transformation needed not only to be carbon free, but to be fossil fuel free in building operations. Attendees will learn the six reasons this project is transformative for the City Boston and how to overcome the challenges of geothermal well drilling in a dense urban setting. Successful projects result from a deliberate process of developing the best plan, assembling the most qualified team, and committing to excellence in execution from concept to completion.
