Dr. Jeff Sutherland, Co-Founder of Scrum

 Founder and Chairman, Scrum, Inc.
A former US Air Force “Top Gun,” Dr. Jeff Sutherland is the inventor and co-creator of the SCRUM framework. Developed in 1993 and formalized in 1995 with Ken Schwaber, Scrum has since been adopted by the vast majority of software development companies around the world. Realizing its benefits extend well beyond software, Jeff pioneered the application of this lightweight framework to several other industries including: automotive, biotech, finance, and telecom. As the Founder of Scrum Inc. Jeff is committed to implementing Scrum and the scaling of Scrum across the entire enterprise. Dr. Sutherland applied his decades of experience into the development of the Scrum@Scale guide which contains the definitions of the components that make up the Scrum@Scale framework. He continues to share best practices with organizations around the globe and has written extensively on Scrum rules and methods. His book, Scrum: The Art of Doing Twice the Work in Half the Time, has sold over 100,000 copies.

Keynote Title:
Scrum at Scale: The Official Guide for Scaling that Works
Starting from the origins of Scrum, Jeff Sutherland, the co-founder will illustrate how the movement is now moving towards Scrum@Scale. It was developed from Dr. Sutherland’s own experience and with the input of many experienced Scrum practitioners. The guide codifies what works when scaling Scrum. By definition, Scrum itself was designed to address complex adaptive problems.  Scrum@Scale is the natural extension of well-implemented Scrum, which can run an entire organization. It was created to efficiently coordinate an ecosystem of multiple teams that optimizes the execution of an organization’s overall strategy. The Scrum@Scale framework is designed to be used across the enterprise as a whole: all departments, products, and services. It can be applied across multiple domains in all types of organizations in industry, government, or academia. click here to learn more information about scrumatscale  The current Harvard Business Review magazine talks about Agile At Scale co-authoring Dr. Sutherland
